About this deal

This book had me riveted from cover to cover... it was one of those books that I flew through and as I got closer to the end I wanted to slow down, because I was not ready to let this book go.... but as much as I wanted this book not to end, I needed to know what all had happened, and what was going to happen next.... because let me tell you what, Camilla Way had me completely stumped!

The Lies We Told: The exciting new psychological thriller The Lies We Told: The exciting new psychological thriller

What an excellent dilemma this book poses! Two sisters, one married one not. The married sister comes up missing, presumed dead. Living sister falls in love with her brother-in-law, only to find the suspected dead sister. How do you return from all of that? How do you go on? This book poses all of those questions and more! Leavings you thinking about decisions and consequences long after finishing the book! When Clara's boyfriend, Luke, disappears, everyone believes that he has left her, but Clara thinks she knows the truth.I smiled. The baby would have his last name-Pollard-and he'd started calling him or her "the Pollywog" a couple of weeks ago. I knew then that he was confident everything would go well this time. I felt the slightest twinge of anxiety over him telling Lisa, but tamped it down. It was time to let the world share our happiness. "Absolutely," I said. The book moves at a brisk pace and there’re not any lulls in the suspense. I knew the two stories would intertwine at some point but didn’t see how it would all come together. There are several points in the plot that require you to suspend belief, but they’re not overwhelming. It’s got a very satisfying ending.

The present story line has Clara on the search for her boyfriend Luke, when he suddenly disappears. I loved all the clues the author threw in. I was right there with Clara piecing everything together (or not). She becomes a bit of a detective and soon starts wondering if she really knew Luke as well as she thought. The stories she is hearing about Luke just don't ring true. Our story begins with Beth and Doug praying for a child since the very early years of their marriage. They've been left with too many unsuccessful attempts. But the winds of time finally bring them baby Hannah. Their little miracle child showers them with joy beyond words. As Hannah matures, Beth eventually notices worrisome behavior in little Hannah. She's taken on aggressive displays both at home and at school. Doug is in denial, but Beth observes unsettling, willful acts by her daughter. As Hannah grows, so do the escalating problems.
