About this deal

But it's a bit different in a Grand Tableau, where there are so many diagonals and so the diagonals are more about the details. Having all 36 cards of the Lenormand laid out before you, it is very likely you may have no idea where to begin. Don’t you worry if you can read lines of 5 or lines of 9 spreads and remember of two cards combinations because some cards can be read in pairs.

What is the emotional life of the querent regarding the situations? What effects is the unconscious having? Now, let’s build this line up to 5 cards. Suppose we add the Flowers and the Woman to the first 3 cards. Key cards. The Lily in the center focuses the reading on career, and the Snake, which covers the readee, can point to disappointments though it also clearly advises caution, silence, and discretion. The Sun represents a successful or happy thing. Therefore, the Letter + Sun might mean a successful conversation or even a new publication! MirroringIn a portrait, there are three rows, three columns, and two diagonals. I often use the portraits in my forecasts, like the horoscope readings, the moon readings, and others, if you follow these readings of mine.

Finally, when laying out the Grand Tableau in rows of eight cards, you’ll have 4 cards that will end up in the last row. These last 4 cards are sometimes known as the cards of fate - and can be used for predictive purposes. Generally, they apply to a timeframe ranging from 8-12 weeks from the present. If there is a particular area you are concern, please locate it’s symbol corresponding to your issue and it will help you greatly. In the Grand Tableau, it is not just a single card, but rather, the four cards at the center of the spread. You can get creative with your spreads, and you may already feel comfortable branching out in tarot readings.

When you’re starting out with Lenormand, you’re not likely to jump right into the Tableau. You’re best starting out with simple 3-, 5-, and 7-card lines. It’s a good idea to practice them on a daily basis so you build your card-combination skills. Considering the size of the Grand Tableau, it is good to mention to idea of distance. It happens so that, the closer a card is to your significator, the stronger influence it will have on it, and the farther away it may be, the less relevant it will be. The House lady is in (for me, for men it would be Man card 28) is very important. It tells me my orientation for the month and also the card which is in house 29, is my general "mood" for the month. An obvious challenge with the Tableau is how long its lines are. They will stretch your interpretation skills.

Example: When I did this draw I was single. Lets look at Man card to see who he is. The House is closer, it can be a family member. Tower , someone Tall (all of us are really tall). Coffin, he is ill or going through some pain. He is in house of Bear, can be father. In house of Man is Clouds, he is in trouble, going through a rough period. I would say its my father. He was dealing with too much at that time and all the cards are pointing to that. He had a surgery for anal fissure (Scythe in house of Snake) shortly after this spread. He lost his mother shortly after the spread (Coffin in house of Coffin).Keycards are usually only for smaller spreads like the 5 or 9 card, just to focus the reading on a specific life area (although sometimes it is better not to use them, as per the keycard post.) In a Grand Tableau, as it uses ALL the cards, the keycards are already there for life areas such as home, love etc. You just find the right one in the spread to read about it, as per the How To Read the Grand Tableau instructions. Next step is reflection and mirroring. It is a classic method from Iris Treppner's course in which you make combinations as if you were folding the Grand Tableau horizontally and vertically. e.g
