About this deal

And the wood turned out absolutely fantastic, I may have to get more models with wood grain because brushing on Wyldwood contrast is just so dang satisfying. These fantasy jungle ruins offer the perfect variety of Line-of-Sight blocking terrain and Area-terrain for your wargames. When the Azyrite ruins came out, I knew that I wanted to purchase a set to paint up for my terrain collection as they looked really nice on the internet and I thought that they could readily fit in to a 40k game, as well as Age of Sigmar.

Alongside the Daughters of Khaine releases, there are also some terrain options that have been released for Age of Sigmar. Easily add scenery to your games of Warhammer Age of Sigmar with this set of 12 push–fit plastic ruins. Today I share my Azyrite Ruins from the original Warcry starter set, which are also included in the new Catacombs box. With that in mind, I gave them and the bell a couple of thin coats of Scale 75 Dwarven Gold before washing them with Army Painter Strong Tone.

Rich, thematic detail makes these terrain pieces a pleasure to paint, build and even use as base decoration for larger models. The longer sections of ruined wall can be joined together to make a single, longer section, the whole piece bedecked with detailed Sigmarite iconography, and the entire set is push-fit – no glue is required to assemble, meaning you can have this set on your gaming table almost immediately!

The broken pillar I painted in the same way as the rest of the stonework, although I was a little annoyed at having to mix up a small amount of my wash again. Also included in the box are the rules for using the Azyrite Shattered Plaza in your games of Warhammer Age of Sigmar.

Then to really bring out the wood grain, I drybrushed all the wooden parts across the grain with Zandri Dust.So far I’ve painted all the ruins you can see in this post, which is about half the terrain that came with the original Warcry starter set.
