About this deal

There’s something a little worrying about the Disco-Antistat cleaner, namely that for something quite so obviously simple, it does the job rather too well. I already have a vacuum record cleaning machine (Moth) but I wanted the Knosti because I wanted a way of immersing the records for a while in a record cleaning solution, hoping for better results. I also think the brushes inside the Knosti (camel hair, I read somewhere) stand a better chance of getting inside the grooves than on any disc washing brush I've been able to find so far. To clean, you add the supplied cleaning liquid, which has already been diluted and is ready to use, to the bath (I’ll talk more about the liquid later on). The manufacturer wants you to pour enough liquid until the level reaches the uppermost part of the brush. I would advise against that otherwise you risk running too close to the label area. I know the label is protected by the clamps but, even so, I wouldn’t tempt providence here. Außerdem hätte ich gerne die Möglichkeit einen 2. Satz Dichtschalen zu kaufen. Bieten sie aber nicht an, nur in so einem Ersatzteile Set für 30€. Nein Danke. Once the clamp is securely on the the record, you will notice that the clamps provide two services.

What I can say so far is it works really well at 1-1:5 minute for lightly dirty records and 2-3 min for really dirty where the lines of detritus were clearly visible. This ‘article was written because though rumours abound of residue issues, with some people even just using the bare bones of the machine with distilled water and not the ‘Majic Formula’ to avoid those rumoured problems, no online review existed that directed talked about this head on and I could myself find no information to either confirm or deny the residue rumours with this kit.Another plus about the Knosti kit is the clamps provided to protect the label. Although the two systems clearly state how much water you should put in to keep the label safe, it’s nice to see a company going the extra mile for its customers. You'll want to setup on the kitchen bench or similar to clean your records. It's a little messier than using a RCM such as the Consonance or Okki Nokki. There will still be some wiping up once you're complete. Unlike the other guys, the bottom of the basin is free of nooks n crannies to provide trouble-free cleanup. Another similarity between these two is the setup, which goes as follows: placing the rollers in the desired position within the basin, inserting the brushes within the vertical slots, and filling the basin with distilled water and the cleaning solution.

Driven by a Bosch electric motor, the record rotates evenly in the new fibreglass-reinforced tub, achieving a homogeneous treatment with ultrasound (46kHz.). The machine has been developed harnessing ultrasonic and a proven goat hair brush technology that when together they ensure a deep but gentle cleaning of your precious vinyl to ensure clarity of your sound without causing damage to the composition of the vinyl itself. Filtered For PurityThis is the review I read many years ago that said the Knosti Disco Antistat was a good match for L'art Du Son fluid. Blimey, we vinyl fans have a complex relationship with our records. Just look at one aspect of the relationship, cleaning the darned things. There are a host, a gamut of methods to clean vinyl discs. This format must be unique in offering so many cleaning solutions and so many complex ways to do it. I’ve never known so much effort to be placed into, what seems to be, a simple task.
