A favourite with many gin lovers, Botanist is currently the only gin produced on the wind-swept island of Islay off the west coast of mainland Scotland. Using a total of 16 botanicals and distilled using the traditional single copper pot still method, we have created a gin that has a refreshing lemon base, pronounced further by a diverse array of leaves and flowers – including lemon balm – hand foraged on the island and selected to deliver a gentle floral, citrus fresh character.Twenty-two botanicals are hand-foraged from hills, shores and bays then slowly distilled with nine berries, barks, seeds and peels to create a spirit that captures the heart and soul of this remote Scottish island. As with everything at The Oxford Artisan Distillery, the gin base is distilled from our ancient heritage grains. This richly complex gin is a collaboration with and a true celebration of the University of Oxford’s extraordinary Botanic Garden – the oldest of its kind in the country. The botanicals are gathered responsibly from the hills, shores and bogs of the Hebridean Island by The Botanist's expert forager, with the liquid capturing the heart and soul of the island. With every sip you’ll experience something unique and different – from woody and herbal notes on the nose, to smoky notes on the palate, through to an earthy, well-rounded finish.

Wild Island Botanic Gin infuses naturally growing botanicals from the remote Hebridean island with 100% British Wheat spirit, to create a premium gin of the highest quality. Made using traditional gin botanicals combined with a delicate array of island botanicals including lemon balm, meadowsweet, wild water mint, heather flowers, bog myrtle and sea buckthorn.
