About this deal

These are emotionally charged associations or ideas that have a powerful influence over an individual’s behavior and attitudes. In Jungian psychology, the libido is an important component of individuation, which is the process of integrating the conscious with the unconscious, while still maintaining one’s individuality. a b c Aziz, Robert (1990). C. G. Jung's Psychology of Religion and Synchronicity. Albany, NY: SUNY Press. p.54. ISBN 0-7914-0166-9.

For Jung, our primitive past becomes the basis of the human psyche, directing and influencing present behavior. Jung claimed to identify a large number of archetypes but paid special attention to four. Wilber, Ken (2014). The Atman Project: A Transpersonal View of Human Development. Quest Books. ISBN 978-0-8356-3092-4. a b Allison, Scott T.; Goethals, George R. (2011). Heroes: What They Do and Why We Need Them. Oxford University Press. pp.3–17, 199–200. ISBN 9780199739745. This process, which can involve recognizing and integrating these ‘dark’ elements into our conscious self, aids in fostering a well-rounded personality.Introverts are oriented towards the inner world; they tend to be quiet and reserved, deriving energy from reflection, inner feelings, ideas, and experiences. Glinka, Lukasz Andrzej (2014). Aryan Unconscious: Archetype of Discrimination, History & Politics. Cambridge: Cambridge International Science Publishing. ISBN 978-1-907343-59-9. OCLC 896613668.

However, more important than isolated tendencies are those aspects of the collective unconscious that have developed into separate sub-systems of the personality. Jung (1947) called these ancestral memories and images archetypes. Jungian ArchetypesJung, C. G. (1948). The phenomenology of the spirit in fairy tales. The Archetypes and the Collective Unconscious, 9(Part 1), 207-254.

Jungian therapy comes out of the work of Carl Gustav Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist active in the early 20th century. Jung was Sigmund Freud’s chosen protege, although the two later split over differing ideas on the subconscious. Along with Freud, Jung is one of the most famous people in the history of psychology. His ideas have influenced many of today’s therapy types, as well as the fields of art, film, music, and culture more generally. The concepts of “ introversion” and “ extroversion” come from Jung, as does the idea of having a “complex.” Butler, Jason A. (2014-04-03). Archetypal Psychotherapy.
