About this deal

Jeff Nichols’ filmography is still young, and still showing no signs of settling in to a stylistic signature — or rut. Through such distinctive features as Take Shelter, Loving, Midnight Special and Mud, the writer-helmer has, though, established a certain directorial integrity. Valuing mood and gesture over plot or formula, his stories are propelled by an openhearted but unsentimental tenderness toward his characters, and invigorated by electrifying grace notes. Currently, he’s riding for the UCI Continental team Ribble Weldtite and working for Ineos Grenadiers as a race engineer, helping the team’s riders improve their aerodynamic performance. From humble cycling courier to un-expected world class endurance athlete. Emily's love of being on two wheels has taken her further and pushed her harder than she ever dreamed possible. As of 4 Aug, three heavyweight actors have been confirmed to star in the upcoming film, according to Deadline: Jodie Comer, Tom Hardy, and Austin Butler.

The behind the scenes look at team ANC Halfords was captured by an journalist Jeff Connor who was with the team for the toughest ride of their life. Empathy towards characters runs deep, you do get transferred right there on the spot. However, there were moments when actions of certain members did not match their established character, and had obvious aftertaste of leading the storyline. Not a crime, but is disrespectul. It's been an eternity (more like six years, but who’s counting) since Jeff Nichols’ last directorial effort, the Oscar-nominated tear-jerker Loving. But the acclaimed filmmaker also has the range. Despite only having five features under his belt, he’s done everything from Spielberg-style sci-fi ( Midnight Special) to a gritty Southern drama from the McConaissance era ( Mud).I didn't see "The Bikeriders" until years after it was published, when I ran across it in a college library. Often compared to Robert Franks' "The Americans" or Larry Clark's "Tulsa" for its' grit and immersion in the subject, Danny Lyon’s book of photography was sort of a companion piece to Hunter Thompson's "Hell's Angels: A Strange and Terrible Saga" - firsthand New Journalism reporting about life on "The Edge", seemingly casual but with a whiff of latent violence in every breath, ready to catch a spark and ignite. Thompson rode a BSA Lightning 650, Lyon rode a Triumph TR6 and the bikers rode Harley Davidsons, but what really separated the reporters from their subjects was violence and the fear of violence. The confidence they enjoyed from the outsiders who allowed them access to an insular tribe was provisional. The threat of violence was an existential fact for the initiated, and the reporters’ option to step away to safety put them at an arm's length. They would never have as much skin in the game, but their provisional status membership in that tribe was highly valued by them.

As an autobiography, and while it's an honest account of his actions , it's nothing like The Death of Marco Pantani biography, and highlights the differences between addition and performance enhancing drugs. Mike Faist ( West Side Story) portrays Danny Lyon the sort of narrator of the piece; Emory Cohen has a cool role that I won’t give away here and then there’s Toby Wallace, who I first spotted in the Aussie soap Neighbourswhen he was a kid. Austin Butlers perfomance, restricted by his character, was not impressive. His costars Jodie Comer and Tom Hardy, on the other hand, have done exceptional work,Reading after the tale of Marco Pantaini will make for auditable sighs and how did nothing get learnt. Truth hurts, but that's not to say it should be avoided.

Principal photography began in Cincinnati, Ohio in October 2022 and concluded that December. [11] [12] Release [ edit ] Nichols left that meeting “kind of punch drunk,” to catch Comer in Prima Facieat the Harold Pinter Theatre in the West End. Then there’s the distance – very few of us could ride 240 miles in one day in the first place. Doing that distance week after week for the best part of two and a half months is on a complete other level. Milici, Lauren (November 9, 2022). But both the book and the film go deeper than that because the works are supported by the interviews Lyon conducted which were transcribed and those words contain harsh truths about America.

Much of Kathy’s narration/conversation is taken from Lyon’s interviews for his oral history, and Comer delivers it with an Upper Midwest accent in high gear. That’s a distracting aural reality, but in Comer’s gaze the character’s canny strength, insight and amazement at the life she’s ended up leading, when she “used to be respectable,” lend unexpected shadings to the role. Unlike, say, The Godfather, in this chronicle of a group of men who operate off the mainstream grid, a woman’s voice is front and center. Through Start at the End, Dan uses his own experiences, as well as case studies from other sports and the world of business, to demonstrate how this approach of reverse engineering can be applied and help in any aspect of life. This fast paced true story follows the first British team to enter the Tour de France, and makes you realise why Team Sky going on to win the race two decades later was such a big achievement. But when it’s broken down, the achievement becomes increasingly incomprehensible. First is the boldness and the uncharted territory – Mark beat the previous record by a whopping 44 days, it marked a complete paradigm shift in our conception of what’s humanly possible. Isitt has painstakingly captured the exacting details of locations, terrain, sights, noises and even smells from a time when the race was held, which can make for incredibly hard reading at the injustice of war.
